ವಿಶ್ವ ಯೋಗದಿನ




ಯೋಗೇನ ಚಿತ್ತಸ್ಯ ಪದೇನವಾಚಾಂ ಮಲಂ ಶರೀರಸ್ಯ ಚ ವೈದ್ಯಕೇನ |
yogena chittasya, padena vachan malam sharirasya cha vaidyakena | योगेन चित्तस्य, पदेन वाचां मलं शरीरस्य च वैद्यकेन । yogena cittasya, padena vācāṁ malaṁ śarīrasya ca vaidyakena | Through Yoga the Chitta, through grammar the language, and through medicine the physical body | yogena (योगेन, yogena) = (instr. sg.) through Yoga chittasya (चित्तस्य, cittasya) = (gen. sg.) the Chitta; Chitta is everything variable of humans: Thoughts, Emotions, physical body padena (पदेन, padena) = (instr. sg.) through Grammar vacham (वाचां, vācāṁ) = (gen. sg.) the Language malam (मलं, malaṁ) = Evil, Illnesses sharirasya (शरीरस्य, śarīrasya) = (gen. sg.) of the body, the human’s shell cha (च, ca) = and vaidyakena (वैद्यकेन, vaidyakena) = (instr. sg.) through Medicine yo'pakarot tam pravaram muninan patanjalim pranjalir anato'smi ||

ಯೋಪಾಕರೋತ್ತಮ್ ಪ್ರವರಂ ಮುನೀನಾಂ ಪತಂಜಲಿಂ ಪ್ರಾಂಜಲಿರಾನತೋಸ್ಮಿ

योऽपाकरोत् तं प्रवरं मुनीनां पतञ्जलिं प्राञ्जलिर् आनतोऽस्मि ॥ yo'pākarot taṁ pravaraṁ munīnāṁ patañjaliṁ prāñjalir ānato'smi || who among all those Sages handed this over I respectfully bow to Patanjali. yah (यः, yaḥ) = (pronomen: nom. sg. m.) who apakarot (अपाकरोत्, apākarot) = (impf.) handed over tam (तं, taṁ) = this pravaram (प्रवरं, pravaraṁ) = (gen. pl.) in the group of the, among muninam (मुनीनां, munīnāṁ) = (gen. pl.) the Sages, Wise men patanjalim (पतञ्जलिं, patañjaliṁ) = (akk. sg.) Patanjali pranjalih (प्रञ्जलिः, prañjaliḥ) = worship, the hands closed to the salutation anatah (आनतः, ānataḥ) = bowed asmi (अस्मि, asmi) = (1.pers. sig.) I am abahu purushakaran shankhachakrasi dharinam | आबाहु पुरुषाकारं शङ्खचक्रासि धारिणम् । ābāhu puruṣākāraṁ śaṅkhacakrāsi dhāriṇam | The upper body of human shape, carrying a mussel horn (original tone), a discus (infinity) and a sword (power of differentiation) abahu (आबाहु, ābāhu) = upper body purusha (पुरुष, puruṣa) = (m.) human being, man, soul akaram (आकारम्, ākāram) = (acc. of akara (आकर, ākara)) shape, appearance, form shhankha (श्हङ्ख, śhaṅkha) = (acc.) mussel horn. The horn symbolises the tone ँौं that is considered to be the original tone and the basis of all that is. chakra (चक्र, cakra) = (acc.) Wheel, Discus. The Chakra represents infinity asi (असि, asi) = (acc.) Sword, because sword represents the power of differentiation. Not applicable here: you are (2. pers. sg.), because of the word order dharinam (धारिणम्, dhāriṇam) = holding, carrying sahasra shirasam shvetan pranamami patanjalim || सहस्र शिरसं श्वेतं प्रणमामि पतञ्जलिम् ॥ sahasra śirasaṁ śvetaṁ praṇamāmi patañjalim || having 1000 bright heads, I bow to Patanjali. sahasra (सहस्र, sahasra) = 1000 shirasam (शिरसं, śirasaṁ) = (akk. sg.) Head shvetam (श्वेतं, śvetaṁ) = (akk. sg.) white, bright pranamami (प्रणमामि, praṇamāmi) = (1. pers. sg.) I bow patanjalim (पतञ्जलिम्, patañjalim) = (akk. sg.) to Patanjali, the Author of the Yoga-Sutra. This work is considered to be one of the most important philosophical basis' of Ashtanga-Vinyasa-Yoga
