The physical ‘you’ could get confused with erratic eating habits and multiple partners, cautions Sadhguru
Today, it is not considered necessary for you to spend all your life with one partner; a partner could come with an expiry date. When you enter into a relationship, you might think it is forever, but within three months you might think, “Why am I with this person?” Your relationships may not last, but if you get into the habit of falling in and out of love too often; if you play around with too many people, after some time, you could become numb. You might find that you do not like anybody. This is because there is something called Runanabandha.
It Records Everything
Runanabandha is a certain structure of karmic substance; it is a kind of recording in the body. Wherever you mingle with people, some runanabandha is created. And when two people come together, the runanabandha is much deeper. The body keeps a record of everything that has happened. If intimacy happens with another body, your body keeps a record of that particular kind of energy.
Since your body remembers it all, if you have multiple partners, the body slowly gets confused over a period of time and this confusion will tell in your life in a myriad ways. Your mind is confused, but you live with that, somehow. But, if the body gets confused, then, you are in deep trouble.
One of the major reasons for the prevalent high level of anxiety, insecurity and depression is that bodies are confused. After some time, you do not need any reason to go nuts. People are just going nuts without any reason because the body itself is confused.
The body gets confused with multiple intimacies; that’s one thing. Another thing is the type of food you eat. In Indic tradition, orthodox people never ate more than two or three items in a meal, and those three items were always matched together. People understood the body so well that in our homes, when a particular vegetable was cooked, it was done in a certain kind of curry. They never cooked that vegetable in another kind of curry, because they understood that if they put two mismatched things together, the body would get confused.
As young boys, we were trained to pick vegetables when we went to the market. “If you buy this vegetable, you do not buy that vegetable because these two cannot be eaten within a span of two days. If you have eaten this, you should not eat that, because the body will get confused, and once your body gets confused, you will go haywire.” This understanding was always there.
But whenever people become a little affluent, they think they have to eat everything in a single meal. If you go to any upscale dinner, you will see that there is total madness. Recently, at one of the events, someone announced with great pride that they have 270 different varieties of food, and he invited guests to take a little of everything and eat. Imagine how confused your body could get with so many items of food!
So, the two major things which confuse the body are — improper eating habits and indiscriminate indulgence in physical intimacy. These will take a toll over a period of time. This has nothing to do with morals. It is a certain existential process. Every action has a consequence. If you do things with your body, certain consequences will follow. Earlier, these things were deeply understood, and life was structured around them. Now, in the name of freedom we want to demolish everything, hence we suffer. Maybe a time will come centuries later when we will realise that this is not the way to live.

A good article. Really people don't know what to eat and what not. There is system of eating habits specially designed for the months (rutus), that is how our elders made specific food packages for every festival. Now, every thing is freely available, and everybody is free to eat whatever they like. no restrictions to anything. so the result is decease.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good article.
